The Zero Waste Joggers pattern is a basic elastic waist, pants pattern that can be sewn from woven fabric or a stable (not too stretchy) knit fabric. It features inseam or front zip pocket options and an optional waist tie with eyelets or buttonholes.

  • Super easy to sew with step-by-step instructions with pictures.
  • The whole pattern is made from a simple rectangle of fabric with no leftovers.
  • You can choose to include the tie at the waist or not.
  • Instructions also included to help you with fit.

Sizes: The pattern starts at a size 2 and goes up to a size 14 (kids sizing).

File types: A4/Letter size PDF (for home printers), A0 size PDF (for printshops), and a projector file too.

Difficulty: Basic Skills

All the patterns in the Zero Waste Collection are cut from a single rectangular piece (or pieces if there is a lining) of fabric with no waste. This leaves you with only usable rectangular remnants the size of which depends the size of the pattern and the width of the original fabric.

We know that this type of pattern cutting is not a 'fix all' for waste in the sewing world, but it is our step in the right direction and we really hope you enjoy the patterns as much as we do.

Very versatile pattern for many fabrics

I made my first version of the Zero Waste Jogger from corduroy fabric. The pants were easy to sew, i sewed pockets on the sides of the legs. My son wanted more pockets with zippers. I could add them later.
The seams ripped in the crotch area, but they were easy to repair. I find that the crotch seam is a difficult thing in zero waste pants. Also in others i made.
Now i will make one in stretch jogger fabric and i think the crotch area will have less problems.
